She's 53, slim and blond and very 'golf club'.  It was meeting her now husband, also an investigator, four years ago that turned her on to detective work. 'I was fascinated by what he did.  It's a combination of a crossword and a jigsaw.'  Based in Oxfordshire, the couple are now business partners and cover everything from serving legal papers and debt recovery to tracing people, such as those who are beneficiaries of a will.  'I do spend a lot of time knocking on doors or sitting in cars, and sometimes I'll disguise myself with a wig or sunglasses.  What is interesting is that people just don't expect a female investigator, it disarms them and they tell me exactly what I need to know.  It's not glamorous - we're people's last resort.'v
