Fallout London boasts a large new area to explore, full of dozens of new locations, points of interest, and much more. Since you'll be required to create a brand new character to adventure through the ruins of London, there are many new things to do first that differ from how Fallout 4's world transpires.

Collect Tickets

"Mind the Gap" is more than just a popular saying in Britain; it's a clue on how to strike it rich in Fallout London. Unlike the popular post-war currency in America, which centered around using Bottlecaps to trade with, those who survived the nukes in London instead bartered using Tickets that allowed admission into the London Underground.

You'll find many such tickets early on when escaping from the lab at the start of the game and entering the London Underground from The Shard Hotel. These large orange tokens can often be found in places like this and should be collected whenever spotted, as you are less likely to find Bottlecaps in the same amount of frequency.

Recruit Churchill, the British Dogmeat

Everyone needs a good companion when traversing the post-war ruins, and what better companion than man's best friend. While almost every Fallout Game allows you to find a canine companion named Dogmeat, Fallout London has its own version.

After you escape the lab and complete the tutorial to take the London Underground train and take a crash landing, you'll meet a group of ruffians called the Vagabonds you can talk to, led by Sebastian Gaunt. When they tell you about the Thamesfolk, ask for directions to the settlement, and they'll point you toward the north and west.

Take the north path until you come upon the Prilladog Food Factory, and you'll hear a factory guard calling out for some dogs to stop fighting. A plucky bulldog is battling against several mongrel dogs, and you can kill the mongrels to rescue the bulldog.

After talking to the guard, he'll offer to let you take care of the bulldog named Churchill. He's Fallout London's version of Dogmeat, and is a pretty decent addition to take with you on your adventures, and is also a very good boy!

Not only does Churchill have the ability to follow and stay on command, but you can also talk to him, where you'll find options for him to explore your surrounding area for any noteworthy items.

Find a Gun

Unlike Fallout 4, you won't be given access to a lot of fancy toys right off the bat, which means no Power Armor, laser muskets, or 10mm pistols as soon as you start the game.

You'll be hard-pressed to find a good gun in the early hours, so you'll have to rely on melee weapons and pure luck for a bit. Luckily, there are two early weapons you can find that can help even the odds.

  • Scoped Hair Trigger Crude Gun
  • Flare Gun

Scoped Hair Trigger Crude Gun

Now, before heading straight to the folks in Thameshaven, you can make a quick detour to pick up a Scoped Hair Trigger Crude Gun and some ammunition. To do this, follow the path from the Train Crash slightly northeast until you reach the Thames River.

Once you reach a fork in the road in front of the Layton Towers sign, turn right and travel a short distance down the road.

Here, you'll find an old broken wire fence with a gap in it to your left. Head through the gap and towards the edge of the river bank, where you'll find a large copper-colored pipe.

Jump over the railing and head inside the pipe, where you will find a duffle bag and ammo container on the ground beside a corpse. When looting these objects, you'll find x4 .32 Rounds, a Scoped Hair Trigger Crude Gun, and x11 9mm Rounds.

Flare Gun

Now, there's one more weapon you find early on, and this one is during one of your first main quests. To find the Flare Gun, follow the main quest lead to encounter the Thamesfolk in their underground lair in Thameshaven. To the north and west past the Fesco, you will find some guards who suggest taking the southern entrance into the old tube station.

Make your way through the flooded and slightly radioactive tunnels until you find several tin can chain alarms. To the right, there will be a room where someone used to live, complete with a bed and cooking station.

Look for a bedside table to find a Flare Gun and several Flares you can use as ammo. It's not a perfect gun with its slow rate of fire, but it provides a good ranged alternative to having to charge in head first.

Once you help the Thamesfolk with their quest, you'll also gain access to their marketplace, which includes a gun shop where you can start to purchase weapons as you obtain more Tickets as currency.

Alternatively, you can visit our Fallout London Item IDs List for a range of weapons and ammunition that you can spawn using Console Commands.

Make Use of Settlements

Just like Fallout 4, Settlements are the perfect place to call home. They allow you to build and create your own housing, recruit settlers, and even store all your hard-earned loot. While every Settlement has its advantages, we recommend activating the London Bridge Settlement.

Not only is the settlement central to most major points of interest, but it's also easily defensible with its two access points. It automatically comes with Beefy and six other Settlers.

Additionally, there's space to build a strong base both on top and below the bridge, and several shacks with a small generator are already in place.

There is a small catch, though. You will need 10 Tickets to cross the bridge, as well as 5 Charisma and 8 Intelligence to help Beefy and unlock the Settlement.
